Default Friends 06 making weird noises

I was driving with my buddy, and his front end on his 06 V6 is making bad noises. It is clunking over every bump and usually it squeaks if you go slow. I got under there figuring that the noise might have been a loose component but it was all tight, so I would guess it is a joint in the suspension, right? Does anybody know what it could be?

More than likely is the strut mounts as that is common failure on these cars as the stockers are not very robust. A fairly inexpensive way to fix this is by using the ones from the GT500 http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9770

Hmm maybe, I have an 05 GT though and sometimes my strut mounts make a popping noise when I turn at slow speeds. His noise is a constant clunking noise, almost like something is loose and hitting another part when you go over bumps. I'll look into it though, thanks!

Hey, It is most likely the strut mounts. I have an 05 Roush GT. Sounded like a bucket of bolts. A word of cAution though, There is a service bullitin which states the replacement is a B at the end of the part number. B seems to be for black stud A stands for Green studs? There is no differance in the parts . I spent 128 dollars for the same junky part. I was told by Ford that the Shelby mounts are for adjustible shocks only? I dont know for shure. The replacement did totaly change the ride though. But it does not look like they will last. Hope this helps

I just ordered a set of the GT500's from Joe Heck Racing and they got here today. Nice pieces. $61.00 for the parts and $11 shipping. Best price I found, and Joe Heck has a pretty decent rep locally.

Check the main strut nut, mine was loose and making a nasty clunking sound over bumps. Just tighten it up and it was gone. Try that first

I'll second that upper strut nut backing out. I've had to retighten mine a few times, and it wasn't so loose that you could hand tighten it. It doesn't have to be that loose for noise to start. Either that, upper strut mounts or swaybar endlinks would be my guess.

Have you checked it against the TSB's for front end noise? https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...tech-info.html
