295/45-18 (and even the Nitto 295/35-18) would be OK, although you'd be on the narrow end of the range of wheel widths.

Profile sometimes matters - a taller sidewall can tolerate greater difference in wheel width from the "measuring width".

It's a summer performance tire thing, though the GY's may be more sensitive than others. The Eagle F1 Asymmetrics I've got don't like the cold either. Feels like they're brand new with the mold release not scrubbed off.

I guess that is why Tire Rack says "Like all summer tires, it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice."

My KDW2s get pretty loose when the temp gets down around 50 degrees F.

I have that exact tire and size on the back and they've worn really well. I"ve probably put 15 thousand miles on them so far and have had minimal wear. As long as you take it easy in the winter months and drive according to your conditions, you'll be fine. Great tire for a great price.

Someone mentioned these to me on another thread.

Anyone using these tires? They are a TON cheaper than the G-Force series that I'm currently using at $380 buck each.... O.O (though I do really like the looks of tread-pattern on the G-Force, it's not worth the extra $$$)
Same tire on Tire rack

Just another source, looks a bit cheaper not counting shipping...

I run 285s at the front so the tires can be rotated but you will find that anything wider than a 275 at the front will tramline and it does take a little getting used to.

I ran the 285s at both ends because I was tracking the car. If you are not then you might want to go with the 255s at the front.

285's is a BIT much for a daily driver up front. I'd stick with the 255.

First thing is to decide what direction you're taking the car. For something more along the lines of drag race or more traditional ponycar/musclecar appearance, you'll most likely want to go with the 285/40 & 255/45.

If you're more inclined toward road courses and autocrossing, you'll want the same size tires. In addition to the "all 285's", you could do either 275/40's or 255/45's. IIRC, Nuke has the 275/40's and I have 255/45's (and on 9.5" wide rims there really isn't much visual difference between the two if they're both the same tire model). Your 3.73's vs my 3.55's isn't going to make all that much difference in traction requirements.

fortunately for me this is not my daily driver, this is more of a fun car for me. my primary focus is on handling and cornering ability. Not much of a drag race guy, at least in terms of this car.

I'm a larger guy, so I wanted a sports car but wanted it roomy so I bough this and sported up the suspension to handle the way I like. I'l still on stock rubber though so that has got to be changed.

was going to go 275 all around but noticed the price on these and was intrigued. While I do not autoX or track it yet, I have eyes on doing so in the future, knowing that rubber and my still stock brakes need some love before doing so (at least doing so confidently).

I am content driving it aggressively in some twistie roads and having fun for now.
