Default Replacing Rear Brake Clips?

I'm wondering if after three seasons of track use, over 25 days total, if there is any reason to replace the clips on the rear brake pads.

The Ford parts guy I talked to, who tracks an S2000, didn't think so. Ford only sells the clips as part of a kit.

No reason unless they are bad or defective.
