Front sway bar is not level?, is this bad?
Hello all,
I did a quick search but assume that this doesn't happen too often.
bought a "barely used" saleen front sway bar, getting ready to put it on and notice the left side is up and the right side is resting on the ground. It appears as if the left side is bent up like a 1/4 inch. or the right side is bent down.
either way, when laying the sway bar on the ground, the front section lays flat, the right side rests on the ground, but the left is off the ground about a 1/4 inch. It is not noticeably bent but i dont know how to check this and dont want to bother installing if this is wrong.
does any know if this is normal or not? am i right in assuming the left & right side should both be touching the ground showing its "level"?

Yea sounds like your bar is bent. If you had adjustable length links it wouldn't matter. And 1/4" isn't very much so it might not matter but it isn't correct it will be putting a bit of pre-load on one side.

I checked it on a few surfaces and it seems the same...i placed it along side the OEM and when it is positioned it has the right heights, but when i flip it upside down along with the OEM the 1/4 inch lift appears but the OEM doesn't have it..
i mounted it since i have some time to tinker with it if needed. it went on without having to force anything and looks the same on both sides. i'll have to see what it looks like when it sits on the ground with tires on. in the middle of a brake job atm.
