Why does my 2006 have more camber on drivers side than the other?

Default Why does my 2006 have more camber on drivers side than the other?

This car was my daughter's since new,and I have owned it for two months now.She never had a wreck, but I noticed substantial inside edge tire wear on the driver's side this past weekend.Using a crude squaring tool,it appears the passenger side neg camber is about 1/8" at the top of the 20" Foose wheel, but the driver's side neg camber is between 1/2" to 5/8". To save the newish tires,I've moved them front to back. My question is, how did Ford let something like that out the door? And,is this somewhat common? I noticed this as I was installing Ford "P" springs, and yes, the camber is exactly the same as before.I have on order Eibach camber bolts, and will install only on driver's side.Doing the math, 1.5 degrees equals about 9/16" camber change on a 20" wheel. Any thoughts? thanks, edman49

Has the car ever been aligned? A factory alignment is not a lifetime thing. It needs one if it really is out of spec. After 6 years if the car has never had an alignment, suspension components wear and creat an out of alignment scenario.

Always a good idea to get an alignment when you get new tires or struts.

Have any curbs been hit or have there been any accidents in those 6 years?

Default To camber, or not to camber, that is the question.

What you have to remember is hitting curbs will potentially give you positive camber, and most likely on the passenger side.My passenger side appears to be as intended. It's the driver's side that is weird, too much negative camber. Now that I own the car,I am looking at things I never looked at before.I know that if I file a slot in the upper strut bolt hole I can correct this, but camber bolts will be better. As for alignment, these cars are pre-set with bolt together camber. It is not adjustable, but if the spindle holes were not spot on at Ford during assembly, well, that's what I'm wondering about for other Mustang owners.I am also aware that extra toe-in minimizes the effects of too much negative camber, and my car has slightly loose outboard tie rod ends on both sides, which effectively creates a slight toe-out condition.I have two boxes of Moog tie rod ends waiting for installation, soon.I was expecting owners to step up and say nope, never heard of this, and some others to complain of the same issues. So you guys feel that my car has hidden driver damage my daughter didn't tell me?
I know she never lost a wheel, because she would have made it a point to tell me.
