Default Rear sway bar differences 05 / 11?

I'm looking for a rear sway bar for my 2012 V6. I see the part numbers sometimes vary between the 05-10 and the 11-12's. Will a sway bar for a 2005 GT fit on a 2012 V6? Reason I ask is Steeda makes a rear sway for the 05-09 that works with the original endlinks, but the only 11-12 version comes with endlinks I don't want and doubles the price.

The 555-1056 (2005-2010) bar is a 7/8 diameter bar, the 555-1071 (2011-2012) is a 1 inch bar. The 555-1056 (2005-2010) is the same size as the factory 11-12 rear bar, so purchasing it for an '11+ would not be an upgrade per se.

555-1071 has endlinks, because it requires them. Stock endlinks would not fit. Whereas stock endlinks will fit on the 555-1056.

Thanks. I had a Steeda bar on my 2008 GT and it was a good purchase.

Aside from the myriad of Steeda bars (some of which like their adjustable which is WAY too big), I also have my bars. I make a tubular rear that is 1" diameter and 3-position adjustable as well. It's a thin wall tubing, at full soft it's similar to a heavier solid 7/8" rear bar, at full stiff it's more like a solid 1" bar.

That bar is direct bolt-on, and come with new hangers (the rear doesn't have endlinks no matter what they are called on anyone's site... they aren't at the ends, and they mount the bar to the car. Completely different to front endlinks).

The V-6 has a 22mm solid rear bar on it. So like Brandon stated it's not worth putting another one of those on the car. And yes, I sell all the Steeda bars as well as my own.

Does the base model V6 have a 22mm bar as well or is that a performance pack thing? It's floppy as hell and I'd be surprised if there was a sway bar back there at all.

As I understand it the base car has a 22, the PP has the GT's 24mm rear bar. Floppy as hell can also be the shocks... rebound damping controls the rate of the roll. You can control the rate (slow it down) or the amount (lessen it), or both. There is a bar back there, I'm sure. Older V-6's that were not Pony Package cars or convertibles did NOT have a rear bar at all. Pony's and converts had 18mm rears in the older body style.

Ah. I remember the 05-09 base V6's not having a rear bar so I assumed that might have carried over to the newer ones as well. Nice to know there's at least some stock mounting locations back there when I take out that crap OEM one.

thanks for the info.
