Default New LCA's installed

Got a set of Freedom Racing Tool & Die lower control arms from the UPS guy today.

Talk about some beautiful pieces. I almost wanted to just mount them on the wall but the wife protested. It's raining so I couldn't really get too crazy on my test drive but it actually seemed to ride better.

The new pieces

Side by side comparisons..

New arms installed...

I also put the included decal on the back window since they are supporting our Tail of the Dragon / Wounded Warrior fund-raiser.

and I finally decided to cut down my rear bump stops since there was only about 3/8" of travel before they made contact.

Before

After

Would those bumpers hit the body when you hit bumps on the road?

Yes, they limited the suspension travel severely.

Another school of thought on rear axle bumpstops is that leaving them stock allows a more progressive effect from when they first contact to when it is like driving a go kart, i.e. solid suspension.

I understand that too but with the K Springs installed there wasn't enough room to get a flat tipped screwdriver in between the bumpstop and the frame. In the one pic you can see that the bumpstop is actually leaning over because it's already in contact. I drove it for over a month like that, trying to resist the cut bumpstop movement but when I saw that last night I had to chop em!

It rides a lot nicer now, I swear it does.
