Default Want to lower 2013 V6 Performance Package.

Hi,

New mustang owner here. Looking to lower/increase handling on my 2013 V6 Performance Package.

So far I am thinking...

Ford Racing K Springs or Steeda Ultralites
Koni Sports
Adjustable PHB

Uses for the car is going to be daily driver plus a few autocrosses once in a while. Handling is a tiny bit more important than comfort, so should the K springs be better in that regard?

With Strano's 2011+ koni's I won't need new upper mounts? Should they eventually be replaced anyway?

I think I am just going to cut the stock springs in half on the stock shocks. That should handle well, correct?

That should at least get some responses here. LOL

Seriously, I'm interested in lowering my '13 V6 and have a lot of questions - I know just about nothing, so I've been following this thread waiting for some input too.

Looking at this...
2011+ Koni Sport Set $770.00
Steeda Competition Springs $346.45
Steeda Adjustable Panhard Bar $159.00
Maximum Motosports Camber/Caster Plate Set $329.00
Total: $1604.45

The Steeda comp springs don't really lower the front enough, but hopefully it will make up for that in handling.

Or look at this..

Eibach Pro Plus kit: $949 (Shocks, springs, swaybars)
J&M Adjustable Panhard Bar: $114
Same MM CC Plates: $324
Total: $1387 (Free Shipping with AM)

See effect below:

about a 1.2inch drop in front, and 1.6inch in the rear after everything settled.

Good luck with your choices!

Thanks Jay. Your car looks good. I was thinking about 2010 GT500 wheels also.

As an autocrossing damper snob, not sure I want to go with "eibach" dampers, but the rest of your suggestions gives me more to think about. I totally forgot about the AM website. Nicely laid out site with lots of pictures.

I hear ya there, I ran Koni adjustables on my last car, I just never got the 'usage' out of them for adjusting (I did it all of twice - after that I just left it tighter for normal driving, and didn't have to fool with it when autox season rolled around). I had to lift the rear to adjust the rear Koni's on my last car, I think that is what got to me after awhile (under the hood for fronts - just a turn and good-day!)

Looking next year to autox this one a little - interested to see how I'll do compared to what I came from.

Decided that the Steeda comps would be too high in the front and would probably be even worse on the V6.

I bought Tokico D-Spec struts/shocks, so I can't really comment on the Konis. I grabbed the Tokicos however because they are currently on sale, adjustable, and seem to be solid quality.

MM CC plates seem to be the gold-standard in their category, as is reflected in their price. I am going to use FRPP P-Springs (-1"), so I should have no problems going the cheaper route with J&M's chamber plates. On AM they say you don't really have to worry about camber issues at less than 1.5", but I want to replace the junky strut mounts anyways.

I think the Ford K-Springs would be great. ~1.5" lower, affordable, and you have those smooth flat roads, so no worries on scraping. I live in Fort Myers last year, I miss the roads

Adjustable PHB for sure, incase your rear end shifts to one side. I picked up a Whiteline one.

Oh, and FWIW, I just noticed wheels/tires is 2/3's of the cost. You could delay wheels/tires for awhile and do a full blown suspension make-over for less than your current cost. That's what I'm doing and budgeting it at 2,500
