Question 18 X 10 wheels for Mustang with Brembo brakes?

Hi Guys,

Do you know of any lightweight 18 X 10 wheels that might fit a Mustang with Brembo brakes? (square set up). With that set up, do you think that it might rub on the front with 285 wide tires?. How good is the handling?

One of my buddies, that Autocrosses with me, uses these on his:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/machin....html#shop-by1

He uses the 18x10 on the rear, and 18x8 on the front. The problem with the drop in width on the front is it creates a lot of understeer for him during the events, though they do clear the brakes. The factory is 9" wide, so I don't know about putting 10" on the front. I know there is no problem on the rear.

Check the offset. That'll tell you if they'll clear. I have Forgestar CF5s that are 18x9.5 with a +35 offset that clear my Brembos, running 275s all the way around. They were the lightest, most reasonably priced wheels that I liked.

I don't know if 285s up front will rub, but I imagine you'll tramline like a mother****** and hate your life if you daily drive it.

Forgestar F14's through Vorshlag (search) in 18 x 10 will clear Brembos and have been verified for fit with several different tire sizes AND significant lowering. Offset is something like +43.

I'm looking pretty hard at them for either 265 or 275 wide tires all around.

IIRC, Brembo clearance is more about the shape of the back sides of the spokes than about rim width.

Like the others said get Forgestar's. I know you can fit a 10" on the front (thought about doing it myself).

I believe that all that Ford requires for the Brake Pkg. is an 18" or bigger diameter wheel. As far as width, that all depends on the inner clearance to the wheel wells and other various components.

Nice info. I've been toying with the idea for an extra set of wheels for my Brembo car and would prefer not going through the guessing game. I'd REALLY like to get something super light weight for autocrossing and other track days.

Yes I also will like to know if the 285 tramline on front?

As mentioned earlier your best bet is through Vorshlag.

They have spent a lot of time and research to make these wheels fit on the mustang correctly. You probably won't find too many other wheels that are this light and this wide that fit correctly for less. I plan on getting a set once I make the jump to slicks in a few years. Hope this helps.

Have been looking at these Roush Wheels on their ebay site. Do not see an off set or weight of the wheels.
Does anyone know if the will fit a big brake set up.
Plus are the 10 inch wide going to work up front?

Here is the link.
