Aftermarket Rotors with stock brake calipers? Best brakes for 5.0?

Aftermarket Rotors with stock brake calipers? Best brakes for 5.0?
Would it be OK or possible to use the stock calipers and pads with larger slotted aftermarket rotors? Whats the best brakes for the 2011+ 5.0 mustang? I have 19 inch front wheels so clearance shouldn't be an issue and i would prefer the largest rotor possible.
How good would stainless brake lines with stock calipers and pads (for cheap maintenance and hardly any brake dust) and aftermarket rotors be?

From the answers I got (I have a V6 but similar question), the important part for stopping power is the pads more than rotors. It doesn't look like the stock GT calipers can accommodate larger rotors, so you'd need to get Brembos from a Brembo package/GT500 or a similarly pricey big brake conversion.

Steev is right...
You can't use a bigger diameter rotor because it will hit the stock caliper, in fact it won't even fit.
As for pads, a good set of those will eventually warp the stock rotors as they are cheap built.
You have to upgrade those as well.
For aftermarket rotors you can start here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-rotors-1112.html
They also carry stainless steel lines...

Here is an awesome place to get some good rotors/pads for decent prices.

I just picked up dimpled and slotted rotors painted black and pads for $400 bucks.

Thanks for the replies.
Just looked at a few brake kits, and i noticed the 2013 gt500 kit has 15 inch front rotors , huge, but they arent slotted or anything. Why wouldnt they be slotted or drilled?

Also, would these compare to some of the other options?

Slotting and drilling can cause weaknesses in the metal. Good for heat dissipation, not good for structural integrity and you might end up with a shattered rotor. Good for using on a (circuit) track, where you might be changing rotors and pads much more often than usual, but might not be worth it on the street. YMMV.

I also picked up a set of GT slotted/dimpled rotors from BrakePerformance, and put them on my V6. The only thing I needed to change on my car was the front caliper brackets. Since you don't need the bracket your rotor swap will be cheaper and easier. While you're doing the rotors, do the pads as well - I got Hawk HPS pads.
Either way, you're gonna need two kinds of caliper compression tools. A screw-type for the front, and a ratchet type for the back.
One final thing you can do is replace your brake fluid with some ATE Super Blue. It has a higher boiling point than standard brake fluid.
The steel-braided brake lines won't expand like the OEM rubber ones will, and will result in a much firmer feeling pedal. It's a good upgrade if you're going to be doing autocross or other high-performance driving.

Good quality rotors won't shattered though and on the streets you'll never push the boundaries enough to get to that point.
In racing, we get our Stang in the GT2 class to last 24 hrs races on one set of rotors...
They're huge Brembos but the laws of physics apply just the same.
Someone mentioned brake fluid upgrade... again, not really needed if the car never sees the track.

with 20x9.5 rears. pretty similar setup to mine wheel-wise. Not really looking to spend a ton currently but these would look great because of their size I bet.
My fronts are 19 x 9 so they are a half inch less wide, wonder if these would fit.
Ill look a bit more into brakeperformance site later
