Also a friend of mine came over with her 2010 v6 and it too has the "gt500" strut mounts as well, so I really think this is a 2010 model only issue.

I'll be really curious what you find out. I have a 2010 GT Premium with the 3.73 rear axle package. Bought it new. I think that it rides lower than stock (although I haven't measured it). I put it next to track pack cars, and the ride height seems the same. The suspension seems pretty firm to compared to other cars I've driven too. I wonder whether there were upgrades put in the 2010 that were not made public. Not that I mind. I like the suspension setup in my car (although Koni Yellows are in its future).

How can I measure ride height in a way that I can compare it to other cars?

It looks like there is a common part and you determine which it is based on what color stud is used. your used one has black studs and the "gt500" one has natural (green?) studs, maybe the grade of the studs is what differentiates between the models, the actual bolt piece is stronger?

18183A or 18183B are not the upgrade GT500 mounts - the upgrade GT500's are 18183C. The difference is mainly in the durometer of the rubber part that the spring is in contact with

That would make more since. So the actual upgraded mounts end with a c so that means they are receiving the wrong parts from ford racing.

Not really. What matters is what the box was labeled. Manufactures frequently use the same molds and change the durometer of the bushing material injected.

Well I took a look at my GT-500 Strut Mounts that I ordered from Moss Muscle . The bottoms look identical to the ops but there is also a white sticker on mine that state BR3V-18183-D (yes D)

Now, I did find another post in another forum about this with some really good info.

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...ing-noise.html

It looks like your car DID come with the already upgraded strut mounts. The old style did not have the thick rubber/plastic ring the new style has.

I can't confirm what my 2008 came with since I have yet to replace these but I assume I would have the 'thinner' looking ones.

The plant may have run out of the regular mounts, and used the gt500 mounts instead. Trust me, they are not going to shut that line down over strut mounts if they can avoid it. And Danzcool is right. You have to look at the color of the studs to see which ones you actually have.
