Default I need to make a decision...

Deciding between these two options. Combo will be daily driven and occasional track use. Cost is primary issue. Square set up. Both clear BBK.

Option 1
SVE drift wheel 18x10 43mm offset
Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar tires 285/40/18
Total $1200

Option 2
SVE drift wheels 19x9.5 35mm offset
Sumitomo HTRZ III tires 275/40/19
Total $1360

Please share your opinions about these two options, I can't afford better more expensive tires at the moment.

The 18's, all day long. Sumi tires are pure crap.

18 x 10s, same size tire (275/40/18) all around and a 200 tread wear tire rating.
Bridgestone RE-11 Potenzas, Cooper RS3s, Nitto NT-01s.
My car is not daily driven but tracked at local road courses about 8 times a year.

Yep, there's more grip with option 1. Grip is key!

I like tht looks of 18s better, and more grip. I would go with option one.

Do you need to make the purchase now? You get what you pay for. Trust me, I hated dropping dollars on tires that I didn't want anymore because they were crap...and I had to get them because they were cheap. If you can wait, I believe that should be an option 3.

Tires on the 18s are limited unless I go into the 200+ range. There are other 19s for around 175/tire such as hankook Ventus 12 tires.

So everyone thinks 18s are the way to go?

Sadly, probably any tire i use will last until the car is either sold or turned into a pure track car. I've had my current tires Rikken Raptor 255/50/17 summer tires with 300 AA rating since early 2007. Over 50,000 miles and 3 track events and I'm still not down to the first set of wear bars. Only reason I'm wanting to replace them is they are starting to crack. They still hold air well and grip when hot is pretty good, just worried about driving aggressive on them with the cracking.
