Suspension question

Suspension question
Has anyone replaced the stock shock/struts on their 2010 GT with units off of a Shelby GT500 which are readily available in new or newer condition. What's the plus/minus of doing this as say replacing the OEM units with Koni STR-T's?

I just don't feel like there's enough of a difference between the GT and GT500 dampeners to justify the labor to swap them. On the other hand, I installed Koni Yellows on my 06 GT and my 11 GT and they made a day and night difference. Strange 10-ways are popular too!

Pretty much ANYTHING you buy that's aftermarket (in terms of shocks) will be better than pretty much ANYTHING you get that's OEM. I agree with the other guy - it ain't worth the time/expense to go from OEM to OEM.

Agreed. Go aftermarket. But I would look at other Koni shocks. The STR.T's were very underwhelming for my taste. Koni Yellows are a good option that are adjustable so you can really fine tune the way you want your car to feel.

Thought I would share a quick update on my suspension upgrade. You know how it is? First you ask for opinions and then you do just the opposite. Well after looking at the choices I opted to but the track pack for a GT500 which included:
SHELBY GT-500 HANDLING KIT
M-23000-KR KR Shelby kit (which included the struts, shocks, springs and strut mounts (M-18183-C) that came as original equipment on the GT500KR. The entire price was $297 (on ebay from a Ford dealer) plus $30 for shipping.
I did talk to several different people at companies that sell both OEM and aftermarket kits and everyone said they kit would work fine but might be too stiff. I have a friend of mine who owns a tire and alignment shop put them for $350 which included a computer alignment.
The results are in and the set works great. It is a noticeable improvement over stock and while stiffer is not overly so. If anyone if looking for a reasonably priced suspension upgrade, this one is worth looking at IMHO.
