If you want to spin it that way, you can....

Here's a little video of my fastest run on one course @ 2010 Solo Nationals in my 5.0. http://www.stranoparts.com/videos.php?VideoID=8

This is in F-Stock, which not only has to run stock LCA's and no brackets, but stock springs, stock wheel sizes, etc. In fact the only mods done here were Koni's, a Strano Performance Adjustable front sway bar (can only change one bar in that class, and then the rear wasn't an option like it is now), the tires, a cat-back.

I dunno. I don't see lots of LCA related issues there. Call me crazy. But hey, I sell LCA's and brackets, and all that too. If someone wants them, well that's fine, but that doesn't mean they need them.

YMMV.

And fwiw, I've also run and won classes where control arm changes are legal too, In fact the 3 times I won E-Street Prepared in a solid axle car (Camaro), I never did it with urethane or delrin control arm bushings, but rubber.

Well, I did not want to start anything. I know these stock ponies will "Fishtail" badly if you don't lower the rear. I did this for my own safety after I totaled my 45th anniversary pony
on a semi slick highway, a car went around me, hit a 3x5 piece of plywood. which flew up in front of my new pony. I over steered and four fishtails later slid off the highway and hit a tree. So, I have lowering springs, brackets & 18x9 wheels & tires. Now, I got grip! Carry on.

My money is on the wheels and tires being responsible for nearly all of the improvement.

Wet cornering doesn't seem to have been a high priority for the all-seasons, and wet corners that I can drive through with some throttle on my "summer" tires need to be tiptoed around much more carefully (and slower) on the OE all-seasons. I am still not lowered at all.

Well Norm, I agree with you 7" wheels to 9" had to help a lot. I can still kick the rear out & powerslide my pony, but not like I use to on the 7" wheels. It just feels better after lowering the rear to me. My confidence in the twisty's is up as well. Norm is the man when it comes to suspension & wheels in my book. And I'm here to gain knowledge. Thanks for your input. Alan
