Default Need a little help from GT owners with Boss 302 suspension installed

I found a local guy replacing all of his dampners & springs on his 2012 Boss 302 and bought the parts. He is keeping the sway bars so I went on the hunt for a front bar and found a takeoff front bar. Here's my problem, even though the 302 bar is only slightly bigger than my GT bar (34.6mm vs 34mm) the bushing is wider and taller so my GT brackets will not fit. Ford lists the brackets for a 2012-2014 Boss 302 as included with the bar, not available individually.

Does anyone know the best way to mount the bar? Find 302 brackets or use GT bushings? I'm hoping one of you guys has done this and found a solution.

Thanks

If your bushings will fit, I would go that way. Otherwise, I'd try an aftermarket bushing and bracket like this:

Maybe takeoffs from another '11+ GT or Boss would work. Try a WTB ad?

Good idea on the brackets. The Boss bushings are glued to the bar, also my stock bar has lateral limiters on it from Ford, should the boss bar have them too or is that why the bushings are glued to the bar?

Are you tracking or auto crossing it? If no, I wouldn't worry about the bar. You won't notice it. If you want to spend the money, I would get an adjustable bar so you can tune the suspension a bit more. Just my .02

Just street driving. Autocross or track maybe a time or two but just for fun.

if you aren't even using it on a course, I wouldn't worry about upgrading the suspension at all, it's not like the stock Boss pieces are all that great. Yes, they are slightly tuned to be stiffer than a stock GT Brembo car, but there is much better stuff readily available in the aftermarket for GT/Boss cars.

Just got a call from the guy that was selling me the shocks & struts. He is now backstepping a bit and is not going to take the struts & shocks off until later this year. I do have the 302 front & rear springs so I am thinking now to put a set of D-Spec Adj shocks & struts on it, using the Boss springs and getting the upgraded strut mounts. Should have figured something would not go right, the price we too good.. LOL

Yep sucks but things happen for a reason and I have since found another guy who has a set of 4 D-spec Tokico's off of his GT that have 8000 miles on them for $400. Picking them up Saturday.

D-specs installed. I will never install NON-Adjustable shocks again. It's amazing. 1 turn and you go from a stock GT feel to a sedan feel. Will be great on trips and even set firm it's still not the same jarring feel I had with the stock GT parts.
