Camaro's 1LE similar wheel & tire set up for our GT's?
Hey Guys,
Do you think we can imitate Camaro's 1LE tire wheel set up, maybe this will improve our GT handling: with 285/35R19 tires mounted in 19x10 front wheels and 19x11 rear tires?

I know that its possible to run really wide tires on 11s (305s) out back, but im pretty sure you will run into rubbing issues running 285s in the front. i know some people have done it, I would stick to 275s just to be safe.

The 1LE Camaro is for the most part just a set of 20x10 wheels with a 285 tire, Goodyear G2 tires if I recall. You should be able to hold your own with just the bembo package, two of the weak points other then the dampers in the Mustang are its brakes and crappy tire choices for the OEM wheels. But BFgoodrich will have the Rival out in the 255/40-19 and 285/35-19 in about 4 weeks. The 1LE package is a well done package within its oem setup and the ride is not to bad at all. Having only met one other owner out there with one its a rare sight to even see a new gen Camaro at the track. The Camaro's brakes are the only real strength I seen.

I have 275 40 19s and 315 35 20s
The 315s rubbed sheetmetal fender with steeda sport springs, they are ok with the stock springs but stick out a bit farther than the fenders. The fronts have had no issues and seem to fit fine even with steeda sport springs. I am pretty sure this is as big as i would want to go though.

I'm running 285/35/18s on 18x10 wheels on all 4 corners as well, and with no rubbing at all. That setup is an inch less diameter than a 19 inch setup though, so it isn't a perfect comparison.
I would always go with a completely square setup as well, to allow for some limited tire rotation. I run directional tires, so I can't do any sort of cross-rotation without remounting the tires, but I can at least rotate front-back, and it does help with the life of the tires.

Running wheels wider than 18x10" with 285/35's or even 295/35's all around is physically possible. There will likely be a compromise or two involved - offset gets pretty critical else the wheels may stick out a little, you may have to run camber that's a bit more negative than anywhere in the OE range, and you may not be able to swap the wheels front to rear due to different offsets needed.
One of the 1LE wheel widths and that car's tire section (285/35) is my "design bogey" as well.
