Rims and Tires 19" vs 20"
2013 Mustang GT 5.0 with 15" brembo upgrades
Also 1.5" drop FRPP suspension
My car will be supercharged with a Paxton soon and I will be in need of more grip. Currently I am running 19x8.5 Should I upgrade to.
19x8.5 & 19x10
OR
20x9 & 20x10.5
I Plan on photoshopping these 3 rims on my car but the CV3 really stick out to me since I have a picture with them on a Mustang.

How about Offset, what can I fit under this car without rubbing. Andy I see you are already Rocking some Wide rims if you can give some more advice? I think the CV3 will be the way I go. I love the 5 spoke because it shows all the inner black which compliments the white

On 20x10.5 wheel 295 30 20 tire worked fine lowered, 305 35 20 worked fine lowered (in the brand tire i used goodyear), i think 315 30 20 would work but may rub a bit
275 40 19 works fine on the front on 9" wide rims, most ppl would prefer 9.5 inch wide rims for this tire width though. GL, i used howey industries for my rims and they did a good job, but they were custom so it took a few months if i remember correctly.
offset depends on the rim design and dish depth etc

I had 20x11 ET55 w/ 315/35/20's on with KW V3 coilovers. Photo is a little dark but on the rears I was lowered pretty aggressively and only rubbed every once in a while:
I had maybe a 1/2" gap between the tire and the fender before I put the widebody on. If you've got coilovers on the car, and went with something wide like I did you can always raise it up to make it so that the car doesn't rub. After I did this shoot I raised it 1/4", had no problems with rubbing with the exception of really big nasty bumps, but everywhere else it was fine.

I'm currently in the same Boat. Just upgraded my 2006 Vert to Rousch Supercharger, now in need of new rims and tires. Considering an offset. Currently have 255/45/18's on all fours.... need more grip.
Opinions?

By "offset", do you really mean "stagger", as in different width wheels and tires at the back compared to the front?
What is the width of the wheels that you're running your 255/45's on?
As I see it, the no-brainer choices would tend to follow what Ford did with the GT500 back around 2007 - 2008 (255/45's and 285/40's, all on 18 x 9.5 wheels). I'd rather see that rear tire size on 10" wide wheels, and unless cornering has a high priority you could back the front wheel width down to 9".
No matter what rear tire size you get, you'll need to pick as grippy of a tire as you can afford. Anything below Max Summer Performance need not apply, and not even all of those are realistic candidates.

Corning is huge priority for my. By offset I meant where the tire will bolt onto the hub compared to where it centered with the rims width, if that makes sense.... Ok I am thinking the
19x10 with 275's and 20x10.5 with 295s
Since my back rims will be taller I am assuming that will lower my acceleration and increase my top end. Also the wider tires all the way around will give me more rolling resistance. Should I swap my 3.15 Auto gears to a 3.55?

Thanks for clearing that up - I kept getting the impression you were only thinking about 'stagger' due to a need for increased rear grip.
That sounds like a decent combination although for where cornering has some priority I'd also consider 20x11's for the rear.
Wait and see how the taller tires work with the extra power before planning any gear swap. Then you'll have a better idea based on your own experience instead of taking the chance that you'll choose wrong and end up with regrets or having to do a second gear swap.

2014 DIB 3.7 w/ sport shift "Blue Cyclone"
Wider tires than 275/45/18 need wider rims than 9", Norm can correct me if I am wrong but, I believe the 275's are good enough for drag. Track or autocross may require a wider set.
