Steeda 555-8241 (Linear) Competition Springs.
Been some controversy over the drop with the 555-8241 Steeda Competition Springs. These are the Linear Springs recommended by Sam Strano for Supercharged Cars not the new Boss Comps (Progressive). Some cars supposedly ended up with a reverse rake on these springs. Thought I would post my results.
2014 Mustang GT Base A6 with Spoiler Delete
Roush TVS2300 Supercharger & 265/40R18 Tires
Full Fuel, No driver.
Suspension parts installed include Steeda 555-8241 Springs (225/185), Steeda HD Strut Mounts, Koni Sports (Yellow), SPC Panhard Bar
All measurements in inches. Ground to fender lip.
Stock:
28.6/28.5 29.5/29.6
Supercharger:
28.2/28.1 29.5/29.6
265/40R18 Tires:
27.8/27.7 29.1/29.2
Suspension:
27.2/27.1 27.8/27.9
Drop from Suspension.
0.6" Front, 1.3" Rear
(Suspect it would be closer to 0.8 front for non-supercharged car. OEM Springs sag worse with supercharger)
My driveway is steep and has a dip at the end. So far at a 30 degree or greater angle neither the air deflecter under the front nor the exhaust tips have scrubbed when pulling or backing in., It has not scraped on the three large speed breakers in my neighborhood.
Ride seems little different from stock with Konis on 7/8 F / 3/8 R (Turns from Full Soft) for long trips. I usually run 1 1/4 F and 3/4 Rear which gives me the control I want without undue sacrifice in ride.
So far the car seems very livable for the gain in handling and the fact it sits 1.4/1.7 inches lower than stock.
Disclaimer: Its rumored the Yellow Konis may have 0.25 drop built in and the Steeda HD Mounts may raise car slightly. I cant say if the inclusion of these components affected results.
