If a rod-end joint is clunking, check for things like excessive bolt to hole clearance and insufficient clamping force through the connection. Sometimes a thin washer can be used to fill up some of "too much" rod end to bracket clearance, and your torque reading will then more accurately reflect the clamp load.

Thanks, I took a look and sure enough one of the rod ends rotated and is hitting the chassis. Tomorrow I'll take it to the shop and loctite the hell out of it.
