So I got a set of Koni STR.T's about 3 years ago. I've had Konis previously installed in another car and they never developed this condition even after 8 years. Also I noticed the shocks are made in Argentina now. As far as I can tell it isn't affecting performance yet, but when I replace them I will definitely go Bilstein, cost cutting is a sure fire way to kill a brand. I emailed them about the problem and they didn't bother respond, so their customer service sucks as well.
