Ok, forgive my impatience with only being able to read thru half of this thread..........but lemme just ask a quick question. How easy is it to adjust the rear end pinion angle and front end camber after lowering the car? I'm doing the Tokico D-specs with the FRPP springs. I just want to know if these adjustments can be done myself and how to go about it. Thanks.

After looking into suspension as my next mod and with all kinds of questions in my brain now regarding springs, shocks and cambers ect...and it doesn't help the fact that suspension is my weakest car knowledge category, it seems to me that this is one of the most error ridden aspect of mustang modification because of all the variables involved.
I'm almost scared of making any changes what so ever now after reading the threads - I'm not a very big "do it yourself" guy and even though I know what my needs are and what steps I need to take them for my mustang are I do not have that room for error margin or the money to have a trial and error build.
My car is a daily driver but I do drive hard - take it to the track from time to time 1/4 mile and want to start driving close courses *for fun* very soon, so handling is important but again I do not want to be hopping all around town.
Since I do not have much experience to compare drivability in many other cars I do not understand the concept of "ride stiffness" and how much it differs over the factory feel. I read so many complaints about it, I don’t understand why everyone wants to lower their car just to get that look when sound of loss of control at higher speeds is at risk. Maybe I am wrong and don’t fully graps the concept and if so can someone help me what kind of set up would be best as a total kit and to understand some of the more basic terms and concepts of "oversteer - understeer" - "stiffness" "softness". Thanks.

I have 06 GT, automatic ( I'm 6'5" and the standard was a bear to drive ).
I shopped and shopped and finally decided to install the complete handling pack from Ford Racing. I had it done by one ( of only 3 ) Ford dealers in Ohio that Ford listed as an installer. They told me they would stand behind it. They gave me a decent deal ( $1400 + for parts and install. There is understeer at very high speeds. I love the package, but then again, I don't have anything to compare it to. I had to move my motor mounts over because of the headers, other than that, no problems and it handles like a dream. If you are an everyday driver, I'd consider it. It is a much stiffer ride and can "hop", but it just doesn't seem to matter :-) because it does what I want it to do.
I added headers, gears, tune and air intake, but I'm done. I've got my eye on the 2008 GT500. I tried to buy a 2007, but wasn't on the top of the game and refused to bid on one.
Input on the following....I have an 05 GT convertible and I am looking at either the H&R Coilover or the Progress Technology coilover. Has anyone used either setup? What do you think of the quality, cost and overall ride of each setup?
I intend on sticking with 17 inch rims personal preference. I live in VA and it is my daily driver.
I also will change my front and rear sway bars panhard etc along with some other mods that are being planned.
You can install the camber bolts yourself and adjust the camber by simply turning the head of the bolt with a wrench(after loosening the nut of course), but i'd recommend getting an alignment done which only cost me $35. My toe was off a little on the drivers side after lowering it and I don't mess with adjusting that. The pinion angle is very easy to change with adj. lower control arms by simply lengthening the arms for more negative angle or shortening for more positive angle, but finding the best angle for your car/suspension is a little trial and error. I'd recommend setting it at -2 degree and taking a short test drive.

Hi i am really new to the forums this is my first post
I am a daily mustang 06 coupe driver in michigan (potholes.. and sometimes lots of snow) but i certainly want to lower my stang
I guess this was asked before already but i wanted to make sure
How much can i lower my stang without losing from ride quality? I dont mind changing the struts or adding some other equipment. if i do it i want to do it right.
What parts should i use?
i also saw that changing the struts to D-specs actually increases ride quality is that true? i mean is it really possible to lower the car and increase ride quality?
These are the questions that came up to my mind
If you can help me with these that would be awesome
Thank you (i have 18 inch fanblade rims on my stang)
I currently run an '05 Stang GT with the Saleen Suspension kit already installed. The car handles flat but rides terribly .. too busy, nervous and bouncy when just cruising. When driven hard it is much smoother. I read your with interest your recommendations for Eibach springs, Tokico D-spec shocks and Steeda Panhard Bar and Brace. My goal is to keep the car handling nice and flat and even keeping the ride on the firm side but trying to stop the nervous, bouncy ride. My question to you is can I achieve satisfactory results if I kept the Saleen springs and front sway bar and simply swapped in the Tokico D-specs, Panhard bar and brace. I really like the ride height and stance with the Saleen springs. I am not sure if they are progressive or Linear rate springs?
Thanks,
