You would be better off contacting SAI and see where they are at and they will give you an estimate of the number of cars ahead of you.......

3.55's you mean to tell me SAI couldnt shell out the extra $200 for 3.73's...good grief....how do you like the 3.55's?

I'll give SAI a call when I get closer to buying it.

I think the 3:55's are perfect, but opinions vary of course. Personally I would not want 3:73's or lower gearing since first gear is already low enough for street use in my opinion.

Well...according to the Ford Racing Performance Parts website...the GT-H is a GT with the following options:

Power Upgrade Package...$889
Handling Package...$1,149
Race Rear Brake Pads x2...$410
Performance X-Pipe...$139

So about a total of $2587 for the "performance" additions. Add in $360 for the Ford Racing Stripes and a bit more for the grill/decorations and you have about a 3k package before the 10 man hours (per latest Motor Trend) to convert a GT to a GT-H. I wonder how this rough estimation will translate into real world cost.

I'd rather see an inbetween of the GT and GT500. Call it a GT350 or Boss.
Keep in mind the C/S kit is included with the Shelby GT plus all of the other doodads like functional hood pins and plaques and sil plates According to the various websites (mostly what you can get off Shelby Preformance Parts already) these are worth about $2500 with the bulk of the charge going to the C/S kit and the nice wheels.

The pack last I remember was $11,500 not 12,000.

So that's $5500 plus $700 for good labor. In the end you have a car with 50 more or whatever HP, and a name plate that costs $5000. It would be FAR more economical to make your own shelby clone, and put a $5000 supercharger in it (factory option in 08).

If however you look at it from an investment standpoint, the Shelby GT should be a better investment than a GT, so you should get that $5000 right back out when you are done with the car. In theory.

In my oppinion though you are really just blowing a grand or two when you are done with everything. Leasing however might be a whole other story, because if they stand by their claims that this is an investment/collector car, then they should also offer killer leases on it.

Anyway I'd take that sort of viewpoint to Ford Finance then see what they say, in the end if a name makes you happy then go for it, for me a supercharger would please me wayy more...

Edit: if they are SERIOUSLY charging $7900 for the shelby pack as the window sticker in the previous post on page 2 indicates (last I remember it was $11,500), then that is a HUGE steal if the C/S pack is already included.
