after reading all the history and arguments on the subject I forgot the question! LOL! Anyway after Carroll Shelby passes everything with his name on it or made at Shelby Motors will be worth more.....how much who knows? I would never buy a car hoping that it will go up in value and be an investment but if has Shelby on it and it is proven to be real it will be worth more in the future after he passes....JMO J

Fact is, IMO, When the old fart dies, all these Shelby Mustangs will be worth a lot more. and they are already overpriced.
And Again, IMO, the only shelby in 65 that was worth a crap was the 350R, and you couldn't buy one of those.
Your Right about the $4,000 for a 65 but The price I said was for a 68 and they were selling for around $5500.

In another interesting move for '66, Carroll concocted the GT-350H -- "H" for Hertz Rent-A-Car. Exactly 936 were built, all finished in black with gold striping and equipped with Select-Shift Cruise-O-Matic. Hertz rented them for $17 a day and 17 cents a mile.

I don't have time to Google the info but yes there were a few other than black (I believe red and blue) and there were a small number of sticks as well. BTW 'H' for Hertz Rent-A-Racer Each one came with a rear license plate surround bracket that said "Hertz Rent-A-Racer" Way too cool. ...but to have non black in a stick, well that could be 7 figures. Check the info if you get a chance before I do. Happy Fourth man!!
