the cause is a really good one, regardless of the raffle particulars - i just bought my ticket! heh, and now i'm daydreaming about that fateful day in april when i get a phone call out of the blue: "sir, you just won a gt500!" haha, i think i'd crap my pants!!

You can not write this off as a tax deductible.... I was searching there website and found the rules and regulations for this raffle. The link is below.

Lack of tax deductibility is because it is a raffle not an outright gift. This is the case for any charity fundraising raffle. So the IRS says [sm=chairshot.gif]
And you are correct all GT500’s are 6 speed stick shfts.

I just bought my ticket! Good cause. I did some sniffing and searching and it look's legit. I also called and spoke with them at the Charity.

The making of money assumption is in correct.
There is a church in PA St. Micheals that raffles off a car every year, last year it was a GT 500. They made a boat load of money. But they spend alot of time going to car shows and other events to sell tickets
