RE: stuck between which stang to buy
This one is easy...GT500.
Then spend a bit on some upgrades like the Evolution Stage 2 (you'll be over 600hp) and exhaust (stock is too quiet). The sky is the limit with the 5.4L.
A TVS Stage 4 or KB could put you into 800hp territory down the road (I won't be doing this for a few years if ever).
Methinks a Shelby will hold value better too due to the name. I'm selfishly hoping Ford stops the Shelby runs after 2009

Shelby all the way. they r easy to make big hp with simple boltons (cai+tune+pulley=120+hp) cheep for the hp. u can go z06 hunting.plus you have a 5.4in a Shelby that will hold its value. ive had mine since 9/07 and still love it and cant wait to drive it daily, alsoplan for a good radar detector in your budget.

the problem is i dont want to mod it as i believe i mentioned earlier and i much much rather have a short shifter and roush is a way better car in track racing

uh so easy gt 500 there are short shifter from to many different companys to stick yourself with a roush [:'(]and if you are worried about warranty get the hurst/frpp and have your dealer install it it will be covered under your warranty also the gt500 is pretty good on the track( R&T i think had it at .93g) so unless you are gonna be doing alot of track stuff you wont notice the slight difference also when you are bored in a few years months weeks day if you are me no need to sell and get something else just upgrade the gt 500 has so so much more potential than any roush it also has forged internals JMO

GT500!Not real fuel efficient but man the mod potential in that 5.4 is really worth looking forward too.The car is a bit heavy but can be firmed up easily enough.I had a Bullitt but the 4.6 without forged guts will not take as much abuse.Buy a Bullitt,Add the blower cost,Associated mods to support the blower and you are at or over MSRP on a GT500.If you want the most right out of the box power wise the GT500 is a winner without breaking the warranty.Next choice is an 07' Shelby GT,These can be had for as little as 30k with many new ones still out there. If you want a car that handles like it is on rails,This one cannot be beat!Bullitt is a VERY GOOD all around car with the smooth but firm suspension,3:73 gears and factory CAI.I have owned one of each so my opinions come from some serious driving time.

Get a Shelby GT, put a Supercharger on it, new wheels, and a big brake kit at SAI for 40-50k. You'll have a rare car (I think 58 have been done so far at SAI mod shops) and one that can drag or carve corners. Lastly, value will be great because of the rarity.

haha yeah but the reason why im stuck is the difference between them... gt500 for the amazing power and 0-60 time, roush for the short shifter and independent rear axle, bullitt for short shifter, decent work on the power/suspension for low price and a very good 0-60 time (faster than a roush stage 3)!
