shelby gt 500 upgrades
hi,
i own a 2008 shelby cobra, i have ordered some upgrades for my car and i have a couple of questions i would like to ask to all the shelby specialists.
i ordered a full jba exhaust system 2.5 (long tubes), i also purchased a 3.73 ring and pinion kit (ford racing) and finally a power pack which comes with 8 racing plugs, a jlt intake system with its sct programmer and a small pulley (not sure what size but i think 2.65mm) which will run the shelby at 16psi. i also got lowering springs by eibach and nitto 555r tyres.
questions are:
1- which my clutch plate take the pressure for a couple of months or will it slip?
2- how much rwhp will i be expecting?
3- will i be able to smoke a z06?
all of the mentioned above will be installed by next month, just waiting for the parts to arrive from the states.

Yes it will take the load up to around 600 rwhp and will after that if you do not dump the clutch often or do first gear downshifts at 20 mph.
Right around 515 to 540 depending on tune and conditions.
No, you will not be able to smoke a Z06 - invest in some suspension mods and def some more power - shelby is heavy.
Ps. just the SC pulley swap to a 2.6 with not net 16 psi... maybe 13 psithere. (unless you forgot to mention a pulley that is included in Evo's package which sounds like the jlt stage 2)

guys relax,
the yellow mustang in the pic is my elder brother's car, its a mustang gt. i just bought my shelby, the car is only 2 months old.
510-540 hp is good.
majustin1- the pack i bought is from a website called 'www.rpmoutlet.com', in the begining i was gonna go for the 13psi kit from www.evoperform.com but then some people told me about the 16psi kit. check it out and give me your opinion. its called the high boost kit.
mobydick- what if the z06 is running on a tune with a full exhaust system? a stock z06 is 440rwhp i guess, i saw one on a dyno test run here in my country.

sorry about the confusion
I've seen a Shelby beat a Z06...it had a 3.73 rear, a Kenne Bell supercharger with intercooler, 18" wheels, a 93 tune, a short throw shifter, and some other goodies... it basically comes down to mods like these and your skills with driving your own car as well as the other driver's skills
btw, you might get more than 540 HP with the pulley you've decided on, but I'm not sure...I just think 540 is kinda low for all those mods... ours is over 500 and we don't have a pulley or any supercharger upgrade....like I said, I'm not sure, you'll have to wait and see

haha, yeah, it's my dad's.... but I do a lot of work on it and I drive it as well...which is why I read a lot in this section [8D]
