as most have already pointed out....the power you can acheive with this car is amazing...the interior was definitely and upgrade from my 05 gt premium... google around and do some research you will see many of these cars getting into the 11's rather easily with a few mods then some have went allot further and got them in the 9's and 10's..so the potential is there and realistically acheived. as far as the deal you could get ..that is a very good deal...I got mine in May for $500 ..so $1000 below is a great deal

Rather by happenstance, I've been offered an '09 GT500 for a grand under MSRP. Since it's an acceptable color and (blessedly) has a minimum of options, it's getting some serious consideration.
Questions -
1) Why aren't the track numbers on these better (with 500 HP they should be in the mid-12s stock)?
2) Are the 3.31s a bit of a pain in getting it rolling? Am thinking that the thing to do is have the Ford store install a 3.73 or 4.10 gear as part of the deal.
3) Am having a hard time accepting such a cheap boring interior at this price point (heck, the one in my GT looks better). How have others reconciled themselves to this aspect?

1) Weight...if the GT500 weighed as little as the Z06 then it would compete with the Z06 and not the C6 that has only 400HP.
2) With 500 HP and 480+ TQ no, you'll be rolling fine. You could install 3.73, I don't see 4.10 as a viable option unless you're looking to do a lot of stoplight racing and no highway. (Flame suit on). I thougth the GT500 had 3.55 or 3.73 gears already in it!?!??? (Guess not)
3)I believe there are some options in the GT500 interior which you don't get because of how basic it is...
