68 style hood pins for the Venom hood.
Those of us that purchase that hood from TRUFIBER have to deal with rigging a pin catcher, so the twist on pins stay secure and nice.
I did that on a brand new GT500 and it had to look good and stay looking good.
The pins are supposed to be aligned parallel to the fender edge (see pic).
The kit you buy from BRANDA is made for a 68 with the brackets for the said car.
Problem is, it won't work on a S197 because it's a different radiator support, of course.
I made a cute little set-up from scratch that looks like a factory deal.
Went to LOWES to get some metal, sleeve and stainless fasteners.
I used part of a (metal) pop rivet as a wire to lock the pin in its place, since I couldn't find the same size wrist pin.
The pictures help understand...

Zporta, humm... I'll have to think about that
Matt, I'm a mad modder, remember?
I actually started to attempt modifying the provided brackets, lol
My brain wasn't with the program until I had Lunch...
Then I canned the **** poor project (last pic) and came up with the true solution.

Thanks Cameron.
They work great too, which was my first motivation.
The fact that I made a tight sleeve concept keeps those pins flush with the hood surface because they won't ride on that wire like the original set-up does.
That flaw is now gone...
I also stretched the springs, so the pins can pop up more.

I'll be gone Tuesday till April 7th.
I'll be popping up here and there on the boards but I'll be busy doing other stuff.
Print those pages and show it to your bodyshop, so he can duplicate if he wants.
I should have posted this thread in the general tech section
