I would drop by with the pictures the and the repair cost and calmly tell him what his actions caused and then leave. He may take it to heart and think next time. Fold a copy of this thread with the pics so he can see how bad his action could have turned out.
OP that is perfect-straight to the point and serious and possibly scary at the same time. The calm, cool, and collected guy TJ is could relay that point.

That is a great idea above and no one gets hurt etc.... then as you leave take that GT500 key and run it down the hood of his car and say " WOW- looks like someone keyed your car?"....then drive off getting the car going sideways in first and chirp second and third! (video record please if you do any of this)
