Lethal Performance 07-09 GT500 Offroad X-Pipe (No Cats)
Features:
Mandrel Bent Aluminized Steel
Offroad - No Cats
Bolts up to your Stock Manifolds and Over Axle Pipes
No Cutting or Welding Needed
Increased HP and Torque
2.5" Diameter Tubing
Hardware Included
All new at Lethal Performance is our own offroad x-pipe made specifically for your 07-09 GT500. Removing the cats has shown to increase power up to 30hp depending on your setup. Most important is that the stock cats won't hold up for long to the abuse of 700+rwhp. We've seen numerous times where a customers stock cats have failed and caused the car not to run properly. That's no more the case as our aluminized steel 2.5" offroad x-pipe simply removes the cats and lets your exhaust flow free. Our pipe is a direct bolt on and requires no welding or cutting. Just remove your stock midpipe from the exhaust manifolds and over axle pipes. Then install our pipe with the supplied hardware and you're done. Our pipe comes with the o2 sensor bungs welded in the stock location so there's no extensions needed.
If you have any questions about the Lethal Performance GT500 offroad X-pipe please feel free to give us a call.
Below is an awesome installation write-up done by one of our platinum customers Chris (Sfadchi). Thanks a bunch Chris!
Step 1: Loosen the two clamps that hold the stock X-Pipe to the Mid-Pipes. After you loosen the clamps, there is a retainer on each pipe that must be pushed up and slid back. Slide both clamps back completely onto the Mid-Pipe. The gently lay the Mid-Pipe on the ground and out of the way.
Step 2: Undo both rear 02 sensors harnesses. There is a small tab to pull down on and pull apart the clip.
Step 3: Unbolt the stock X-Pipe from the stock headers. I used a really long 2' extension and deep socket to get to the bolts on both sides. It's a little tricky to get to on the passenger side, but not bad at all.
The driver side is easy.
Step 4: Remove the green top sensor from the passenger side. It just unscrews out of the bung. The wire will twist a bit but it does not hurt anything.
Step 5: Carefully slide your stock X-Pipe back, down and out from under the car. Now reach up under the passenger side and unclip the top green sensor.
Installing the New Lethal Performance X-Pipe
Step 1: Transfer all of the sensors over to the new Lethal X-Pipe, and placed the supplied flange into the driver side of the X-Pipe where it will bolt up to the headers.
Step 2: Install the driver side piece of the Lethal X-Pipe. Leave the pipe loosely installed until everything in completely in.
Step 3: Install the passenger side of the Lethal X-Pipe. On this side after you slide it in the hanger, before you bolt it up, reach up and connect your top green sensor. The will make it easy to connect. Now go ahead and bolt it up loosely.
Step 4: Connect the two pieces of the Lethal X-Pipe together with the supplied bolts. I loosely set theses into place also.
Step 5: Pull your Mid-Pipe back up and slide the metal clamps onto the new Lethal X-Pipe.
Step 6: Tighten everything down, starting with the middle two bolts that hold the Lethal X-Pipe together then to the bolts that hold it to the headers, and finally the clamps in the back that hold it to the Mid-Pipes.
Step 7: Start the car up and let it idle for a while. It will smoke pretty back after you start it up. This is normal and is just the extra welding material and coating burning off. Check for exhaust leaks and your done!
