holy cow so that story is true!

Welp, that ranks right up there with the Nissan GTR warranty and Launch control in my book.

It's all about the money. This reminds me of a small writeup in Hot Rod many years ago about the first six continuation Cobras where Brian Angliss of AC cars stated that he had got a call from Carroll Shelby about building a few Cobra chassis and rusting them up to make it look like they had been found in an old warehouse. Sure enough Shelby touted that these were original frames that had not been used and found and new bodies were built from them. I dig the Shelby cars but he himself is a salesman to the last.

I understand that to keep the value of the Shelby name there needs to be regulation of counterfeit parts and cars but customer service is paramount. They're probably at the ragged edge of their capabilities building cars with several models offered but without customer service they're hosed.

so I was bored and decided to read the entire thread

pretty interesting. I'm amazed that 2 big companies such as Shelby and Ford would have allowed this to get as far along as it did.

I could never have afforded a KR...but a GT500 is within my range when used. It's just hard to place faith in a company who would do such a thing.

I do wonder though if Insurance rates will go up for a normal GT500 once insurance companies find out how expensive a KR is to repair.

Lesser Mustangs. Interesting. Good thing for us "lesser Mustang owners" or there wouldn't be a Mustang Community.

Wow, if I had a V6 I would be upset by that one comment. Not everyone can or wants to afford a $79K Mustang...Shelby or not.

At last week's Barrett-Jackson in Vegas the local Ford dealer had a new KR for sale for only $68,000!
Almost half of what they were going for at the peak!

At the Mecum Muscle Car Auction, a KR went for 55k. #258/1000. Some Ford dealers are still trying to sell the KR for 120k. Others are understanding that they aren't going anywhere if they don't take some serious money off and their KR are going for high 60's. The KR just isn't worth what Shelby/Ford priced it at.
