Default Want hood vents like these

Can anyone tell me where to buy ( & the part #s to order )these hood vents?
My dealer says I have to get them thru Shelby.. True??
Is there any reason i couldnt mount these in a regular 05 GT hood that does not have the raised flat panels??
Thanks

Anyone else tried putting these in a regular hood?

don't know the part number, but you should be able to get them through a Ford dealership. they sit in a recessed area on the GT500 hood, so they wouldn't work the same on a standard hood

The one i saw didnt look recessed - it actally looked flush mounted from the top- yes , no?
Vent appears to have a flange all the way around so as long as i cut the hole the proper size smaller than flange & secure properly underneath - I would think it would work.....
I dont mind it sitting above the hood the thickness of the vent.

ANYONE know part # & if its a Ford or Shelby part ??
Thanks

I just ran up to my garage and looked and the vents in my GT500 hood and they are recessed...so they would appear to look flush with the rest of the hood.

I'm sure you could do what you're talking about...cutting the holes out and inserting the vents into it...they would just stick up the thickness of the vent as you have mentioned being aware of

You wont be able to mount them on a regular hood.

If you look at the gt500 hood, it is made with two flat spots to mount those vents. I dont think they will sit flush on a standard hood. I have not tried it though. Are you planning to saw two 4 inch by 5 inch holes in your hood?

Did you notice the shape of the vents? Have you pulled the liner and looked at other hood structure?

In order to look right, you have to have recessed edges like on the Cobra hood...
A flange tool is needed for that.
It also means that you have to cut the holes a 1/2 smaller all the way around, so you have enough material to flange the edges.

The challenge will be to flange the 4 corners, as no tools that I know of, can do a clean curve...
