Default overdrive balancer for GT500?

I am considering getting an Innovators West 10% overdrive balancer for my GT500. I have heard that they can create problems with the alternator though. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this? Looking for help from the 03-04 cobra and GT500 crowd who has this setup preferably. Thanks!

Hey Adam.

I'm pretty sure that you received this email response from me already but I figured I'd reply as it might be helpful to other forum members with the same concerns as you.

On the GT500 the alternator isn't on the same belt as the balancer so there's no way that any alternator failure can be related to adding a 10% balancer. On the 03-04 cobra the crank pulley uses the same belt as the alternator which is why when running a larger lower pulley on that car you need to get a larger alternator pulley to slow the alternators rpm's down. That's not the case on the GT500 though since the alt and supercharger are on completely different belts.

Hope that helps. Jared
