Default lowering and 20 inch ,wheel/tire size question

Hello , newbie to the GT500. I am going to purchase some shelby 20 inch rims and lower the car 1.5 inches in front, and 1.7 in back with eibach springs. what is the biggest or widest tires i can put on without rubbing. Thanks so much.

I wouldn't go over 305 with a 10". If the offset and backspacing is right you won't have any issues.

Did the same lowering kit on my 2006. Also went with the 20 inch rims, 10 wide on the rear and 9s on the front. Fit ok but the front would rub if turned fully to the right, to the left it cleared. Strang but never locked the steering wheel to the right.

Anyway the car is sold now, I saved the rims/tires and rear 1/4 window louvers if anyone has an interest.

Now going after a 2008 Shelby CVT.

I have the steeda's 20x11 on the rear and with 315/35s... With the Steeda lowering springs and I have no issues.

depends on the rims your planning to get...as zporta mentioned, the offset and backspacing is extremely important when lowering and choosing a wider rim/tire combo
