Question Oil Change Question

O.K. My oil change mi. says it's up at 7.2ki.

I only have 5.3k mi. on the car since the last change but
it is almost 2 and a half months on the DATE that it says it should be
changed on the 08GT500.

Should I go ahead and get it changed now or wait till
I hit the actual MILEAGE change?

I have been sick so I have only drove it about
five-eight times since I purchased it as far as a good 100mi. drive or more.

Thanks!

Why not go ahead and change it smoke? I know its full synthetic but me personally I like having peace of mind knowing my oil is especially here in Jersey since the summer is pretty much over and I can have my car ready for the winter months of sitting most of the time. I would just change it 7.2km seems like such a long time to change the oil even though it is synthetic. Sorry to hear you've been sick and haven't been able to drive that sick ride as much as you have!!!

Well its actually about 1500mi since the last oil change.
It is the TIME that is almost 2mo. past the date it said it needed to be changed. That is why I was wondering.

If I needed to change it after that much time being passed over the recommended oil change even though the miles for an oil change has not hit the marker for the 3k miles oil change they suggested doing.

Just changed my oil today on mine and wow what a difference it made! I been racing a lot since May 25th and it's now been due. So much smoother and much more power.

If you feel like you should or your oil is very black, I'd say change it. Mine was very dark.

I know with dino oil there is a milage and/or time limit that the oil should be changed. Not sure about synthetic tho. My car is not a daily driver so I change my oil and filter every six months using Mobile 5w-20.

If you are using synthetic I don't think I would worry too much about being over on the time limit thing.

Synthetics get contaminated just like dino oil
and the acidic by-products of the combustion
process will make me change mine every 6 months
even though I rarely see 1500 miles of use in that time.
Its not the construction of the oil but what gets
added to it when it sees service.

Mine always looks good as new when changed but
a simple oil analysis would show the contrary...

After the 1500 in the Stang, the Chally sees the rest
of the oils life. Double duty of sorts.
If there is no molecular breakdown, a simple filtering
will return used oil back to life.

Well it's only been 4.5 months since my last oil change.
Again its not up to the mileage change yet.

I guess next week or the week after I will bring her in to get it done.
From what I am reading I am in the o.k. right now correct?

And thanks for the kind words about me getting better.
I sure as shat am ready to be back up on my feet.

Heck if I could get up and bend over to actually check the oil I would haha.
Not there quite yet though!

Considering I do not use my car as a daily driver and would not come near the mileage requirement, I will go by time and change it every six months.
