Discontinuing Shelby Alcoa's
#13
I think they look very good, but those 20" Alcoa aren't light, and running tires with so little sidewall, gives a rough ride. Grab 'em if you like the look, and don't worry about messing one up. They can always be repaired, and they'll still turn up used on eBay. I still see original KR wheels from the '60s on eBay...
BTW- I love the look of your GO GT500, with those striped louvers.

As far as being repaired, that is true, they can be....but the repaired wheel will be different. The finish of the 20" Alcoa is unique and cannot be repaired to original. I've seen on several forums where wheel repair shops were looking for rims to try this out on, but I have not seen any updates where any of them were successful. Let me know if this has changed.

I think either the matte silver machined or matte black machined wheels in the link below would look fantastic on your car Mark...

I would like to see more than a sale email from Sheby about them being discontinued. On their site if a part is discontinued they advertise it as so until the stock is sold out. Currently they are still advertised as they always have. Perhaps a way to spur slow sales but either way if you like them then get them. You can always sell them later if you like.

Hey Mark, hows my shelby rims doing?
Thanks, I'm running 245/30/20 and 285/30/20 and they are great on the track but doubt they will work great on the strip due to the low profile and being a high performance street tire and not drag radial.
Silver CV3's would look great on your Shelby. I love mine and they are super easy to clean. However if the Alcoas are indeed discontinued then I would jump on a set just to insure I have the option of running them, of course if I could afford it.

They are doing good, I put NT555's on them and they work pretty good! I thought I would try the Invo's but I think I'll try the 255/35's and 295/35's if they will fit OK (mine is only lowered about an inch all around). Glad to hear you say the CV3's are easier to clean, that's one of the reason I thought I would like them! I'm sure Shelby will come up with something, Alcoa just quit manufacturing them. Shelby has the rights to the design and Alcoa has the rights to the Durabright name. They probably get someone else to make them! Take it easy & C U later.
