Winter driving?

I quess if it is your DD then you have no choice. Choice for me leaves it in the garage in bad weather. I know I can drive in the snow, It's everyone else I am concerned about. Plus, honestly I would just have a hard time doing that to my Shelby. That is what my CRV is for.

I DD my stang (just got it thought). Last year we had a 2 snow storms 1 week apart and I basically sat inside for several weeks. My school loves to cancel classes, even when there was 1 hour of snow flurries one morning
Like said I think it depends where you live, it still snows here in Oklahoma but only 1-2x a year. Havn't seen any yet this winter
Once I graduate and get more $$ i'll invest in dedicated snow tires and wheel set. I'll also have my street set and then my track slicks!

Talking me out of the 2012 Shelby
I live in Maryland where it gets cold was looking to get the 2012 shelby as a DD and the tires are scaring me. I would park it in the snow but would certainly need to drive in the cold weather. Should I get something else.

You can not drive in the snow with stock tires. Below 40 (dry), the stock tires will spin, but can get you where you need to go (they feel like wooden roller skates). With snow tires, you can DD through winter - snow and ice. Be careful. And remember, with proper snow tires, you have twice the stopping power v. go power.

Great, I take delivery of my car Friday, and it's the first real cold snap of the winter over here. It's not supposed to snow, but we are expecting daytime highs of -6 Celcius (20 Farenheit). But the roads will be dry. And it will be during the daytime, so no moisture due to frost on the road. Wish me luck.
