Winter driving?

Winter driving?
I have a 2006 GT for a daily driver and have been looking for a 2007-2009 GT500 to replace it. Does anyone who already owns a GT500 drive it all year long in an area of the country that gets snow? How does it do in the snow? I have the ability to work from home if the weather is too bad, but have driven my 06 in the snow about 70 miles per day in the winter with no real issues, can I expect the same with the GT500 or will the extra HP make it more difficult to drive in the snow?

The Good Year F1 Supercar tires on the GT500 are not rated for operation at temperatures below 40 degrees F. Driving in the Indiana winters and in the snow is not advised unless you go with different tires designed for operation in that type of environment.

You can be the best driver in the world and still have a horrific accident, due to other idiot drivers out there.. not to mention getting stuck in the snow or sliding around!
I drove my GT through 4 winters, and though it's a handful sometimes (especially as it's snowing!), I manage.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's completely sane though lol

Madscotsman, I posted a 2009 C&R article in another thread, on the top 2 high performance Winter tires directly compared to the top performing cold weather high performance all season tires.

Obviously you would want to go with the very highest rated dedicated winter tire for Ice and Snow that exists for the Mustang sizes from what your saying in your case.
The article is testing for the best acceleration, lateral and braking grip in snow and Ice, and gives top, directly comparable brands for each test. Tire rack may have write ups on newer than 2009 tire brands that are top notch snow and Ice tires as well.
A few responded to my thread saying they really liked the Michelin X-Ice Xi2 for snow and Ice in particular and has good dry performance as well. Erik

haha you live in Canada though... Down here in Tx it's not that bad in the winter... people start freaking out when it gets beneath 32 (not that often) and there is rain/sleet/snow. It would probably be a different story if you lived in the northern half of the country.
