I have ALWAYS been a fan of hood pins.
I had them on my GT. Well... actually the hood pin APPEARANCE kit.

But the lanyards scratched my black paint.

I was pondering purchasing a set of Shelby GT500 hood pins (the engraved ones), and was wondering if any of you have them or if you think they would also scratch the black paint.

They say they have a protective coating on the lanyards but the hood pin appearance kit had a coating too and they still scratched.
Is this coating better or would it still scratch my paint?

If so... is there somewhere under the hood I could actually stash the lanyards when I drive so they wont do this?
I guess I could drill some sort of metal catch thingy that they could hook into right?
