3rd gear, you don't want to downshift too low to where you're only a few thousand Rpms from having to shift. Learn where your cars powerband is, if you drop a gear and you are revving way to high go down another. If you hit the gas and it takes too long to get into your powerband than went down one to low.

08 stock gear ratio is 3.31
On the highway you should have plenty of sweet spot in 3rd gear...that will get you about 3k on rpm at 60 and when punched will boost quickly.. Always be careful when dropping at a roll.. Right day right conditions full boost you can break traction .. I have in 4th ( then again my boost is little higher..)

so i finally tried it, on a 2006 evo 8 (stock0, a 2007 evo 9 (stock) and a 2006 is350(exhaust and cai mods) we did 50 mph roll and 60 mph roll. i know i still need a lot of practice but damnnn none of the cars listed above even came close to beating me. my only mod is my cat back exhaust system.

I've done 50-60 rolls from 2nd. If you're close to stock and have sticky tires, I would go in 2nd. If you have stock tires, go in 3rd.
Watch this vid: He finishes at the top of 2nd
