2010-2011-2012 gt500
Say someone where to be looking into a gt500...
Which one would you get when the 2013's come out, flooding the market with the old "slow" ones and thus putting pricing in the low 40's high 30's.
I would like to know pros and cons, I am aware that the 2011 has the aluminum block and electric power steering, but other than that I am not well versed in gt500's. I figured the best place to ask is here, to hear from actual 10-11-12 owners.

It really depends on what you want to do with the car. The 07-09 cars are a much better deal and the engines are identical (except for the aluminum block in the '11 & '12). You can make massive power for less than what you would pay for one of the later model ones.
With that said, the 2010 & up cars are light years ahead in the areas of electronics and interior comfort/quality.
So, if you just wanna go fast, look for an older one.... if you want the gadgets, buy a 2010-up model. If my memory serves me correctly, the only differences between 2010 - 2012 models is the addition of the aluminum block and 3.73 gear in the SVT perf package in the 2011/12 models. Hope that helps.

...I understand the logic behind getting the 10,11,12 when the 13 comes out due to price and cost savings etc.. But do you LIKE the 10 and up for a particular reason? Are you looking to find a brand new one at a price reduction?.. If its price then why not consider getting just your best deal? 07-09 as well?? Just curious.. Personally I'm considering selling my 08 and getting the 13... Just not sure... Good luck to you though..

I like the way the 10's look yes. I am more partial to the 07-09's, but the interior of the 10's is just light-years ahead of the older ones. Not to mention that I haven't heard anything about the door-panels sagging (like my 05 GT).
They got sequentials, and that aluminum block shaves off a little weight. In the end it's going to be a car to take to car shows together with my dad-in-law. My dad-in-law likes the newer ones, and to be honest, those hips do look mighty fine.
We where initially thinking old school muscle, but the cars we want are just not out there at reasonable prices. So why not go for something newer, you don't see everywhere, yet can be easily modified to your own tastes and tuned to run with super-cars for not too much money? On top of the fact that it always starts, and doesn't guzzle gas like a good old big block would.
I think we should look for a 2011, it seems to be a logical choice. I am going to inquire about insurance this Monday. That is also something that needs to be taken into consideration. I don't think we'll drive much more than 1000 miles per year if we do end up getting one.

Yup, but I feel there is still a few thousand to be had. Especially when those people actually trade in their 11's for those monstrous 13's. It will flood the market for sure. And with gas prices going up the potential buyers will taper off I am sure.
Ideal buying circumstances. We'll see what happens!

I bought a 2012 new last August. If I had one of the older cars I might think about trading it for a 2013 but since my car still has less than 1000 miles I'm going to keep it. It's crazy to think otherwise, as I would be sustaining a huge loss against a new one.
As it is the car is an SVTPP with the 3.73 rear end and Recaro's. It's a wonderful car and I have already done the VMP pulley and tune and installed a Shelby dual pass heat exchanger with fans. I figure I am already over 600 hp at the crank and it wouldn't take too much work to get to 650 hp. The car is anything but slow.
I would recommend looking out for a 2011. How much are you looking to pay?
