Default Tire Question

Hey Guys,

I wanted to post this here rather than in the tires forum to get other shelby owners experiences. My car is ready for a new set of shoes and while i am tempted to put the Eagle F1's back on the car again are there any other tires you guys have had experience with that i should consider? I only ask because the F1's are a great tire but anywhere i can get a little more grip i would like to take that road. So if you have any reviews please drop them here.

Also, just for fun i recieved my new hood from TruCarbon yesterday and it is a beautiful peice of work. I got the A53KR in carbon fiber and i must say the quality is amazing. Ill post up some pic's of it installed on the car tomorrow after i finish up the install.

Here is a pic from the TruCarbon website if you are wondering what it looks like.

I Like the hood a lot! I would someday like to get one that looks like that or close to it! I put Nitto 555's on my stock 18's. When I change again will probably put 20" Vossens with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I think the Nitto Invo's should be pretty good also.

My tire experiences

Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110's
AWESOME tires! Super grip, very quiet, great all around summer tire! Will go back on my GT once the Toyos (came with wheel package) run thier course

Toyo Proxes4
kinda MEH! grip is good, but i think the tread pattern leads to a little slipping while pulling thru 2nd-3rd, gon't hook as good as i would have hoped

Nitto 555r's
GREAT tires! very good grip, Become increasingly chatty below 1/2 tread wear

Others i have heard comments on (from friends who have owned)

General UHP's
Great tire for the price, good everyday summer sports tire with decent grip

BFG KDW2
Nice looks, great summer tire, but tends to break loose pretty easy due to tread design

Nitto Invo
AWESOME tire from everyone i have talked to that have owned them. 3 of the guys i know with GT500's are all running them and don't use anything else!

hope this helps

Nitto 555... Ok tire.. Grip decent ...
Bfg kdw 2 .. Great tire with great wet and dry grip.. Problem is they discontinued 285/40/18... A little noisy tire

Getting continental extreme contact dw ,... No review yet
