Some guys over on Team Shelby said to give it MORE gas when taking off. My shudder diminishes when I do that. I think 3.73 gears would probably diminish the problem even more, since they'd make it easier to take off. But I've got pretty much no traction in 1st or 2nd now. 3.73's would be even worse.

giving it more gas does help. It's not as bad with 3.73's... but you need stickier tires and lower control arms

Thanks mcate. I have a bit of a shudder sometimesin my '09 but don't really think it's that big of a deal. Of course when it comes time to have to change out the disk I'll probably have the upgrade done.

The clutch was redesigned for 2010, & there used to be a TSB allowing dealers to replace the the 07-09 clutches with the upgraded 2010 type. Then Ford supposedly looked at the parts they took off & determined that there was no abnormal wear, and that clutch shudder is "a normal operating characteristic" of this clutch. They're not changing them anymore, leaving those of us who have the older clutches to get them replaced at our own expense.
The TSB also addresses other issues such as difficulty engaging gears and clutch slippage. I just had this performed on my 07 GT500 last week, and I have to say that this is the lightest clutch I've ever felt... it's as if there's nothing under the pedal!

This was completely covered under my Ford Certified Preowned Warranty; I paid the $100 deductible.
