Max Boost on stock engine?

Max Boost on stock engine?
What is the max boost one should run on stock internals? I already have a smaller pulley and running about 14 pounds. Has anyone installed a balancer say 10% or 15% overdriven. I know the 10% is suppose to add around 4 psi but not sure about the 15%.

You will be fine with either. Personally, I would go with the 10% OD in an effort to keep IAT2 temps as low as possible. I ran a 2.6"upper with the 10% lower and it made appx. 16-17psi. You wont have any problems at all with the stock internals at those levels... just check with your whoever did your tune and they might want to write a new tune for the OD lower.

GT500Steve speaks the the truth... I'm running about 17/18lbs I believe with the 10% lower and not sure what sized upper on VMP TVS blower. These motors are good to 750rwhp or better with a good tune. Call Van at revanracing.com or Justin or BJ at VMPtuning.com and they will get you taken care of. Best guys in the business.

I am not sure what i want actually. I have been toying with the idea of just getting the 2013 gt500 and leave the 2011 at 575 rwhp where it currently is for my son. I want a high 8 low 9 second car that is street driven. Is that too much to ask for? I have a friend with a 2001 mustang running a 330 cu in at almost 30 pounds of boost from a vortech at 8.9 seconds. No he does not drive it daily, but it is street legal. Won the king of the streets race in wisconsin. I do not know if i am asking too much but what will it take to achieve this level?

There are street cars and there are race cars.... no in between. Yes, there are race cars that get driven on the street, but that doesn't make them a street car.
To get a GT500 to run in the high 8's it will cost a small fortune. New engine, fuel system and blower, transmission conversion to automatic, rear end swap, suspension.... An off the top of my head guessimate would be around $35-$40K PLUS the cost of the car. And then you would have a car that looks like a street car but is an absolute pain in the butt to drive and expensive to maintain.
If you want to go that fast, buy a Fox body and do it for a LOT cheaper.
And hopefully your son is in his late 20s or older. No one needs a car as powerful as these are before they have enough experience to handle it.

Given you've already got 575rwhp, you're probably not going to feel much if any difference with a stock '13. But...start throwing some coin at it and heeellll yeah. Party on.
