Default Remote start?

Given that the clutch pedal needs to be pressed to start a 2013 Shelby gt500, is there any way to get a remote start for the car that would somehow bypass that?

I would never bypass the clutch safety switch. There was a member on here who did it, and his car ended up in a pond.

Here's the thread that starts with the dealer's response:

I haven't found the original thread yet.

To answer the original question, sure it can be done, but I wouldn't do it.

If you would like to have one, get one that's made for installing in a m/t vehicle. It will function by taking an extra 10 seconds of your time in foresight when parking for the night. Usually by forcing you to park the car, leave it running, then step out, lock it, and it shut itself off, knowing that it's good to start remotely until a door is opened again.

While it's function is then safe, still know, you are now relying entirely upon the emergency brake.

And insurance nor the dealership covered anything and so the car was totaled because of it.

Just don't do it. Not worth it.

Default 2013 Shelby GT500- Won't Start

I have a 2013 Shelby GT 500- It was hit in the rear quarter panel, rear body and now it will not start, no lights nothing. Does anyone have any information on what might be causing this...Maybe a sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ( Both front/side airbags deployed)

I do not believe so, remember you're also supposed to have your foot on the brake before you can start an automatic for it's "safety feature" requirement that got tacked onto those codes as the years have gone by. However, in this case using something unsanctioned (such as bypassing it with an automatic only R/s system)may violate this, and/or your state laws.

And of course the insurance company finding out or knowing what caused any mishaps you might have, expect to be SOL.

There is an inertia switch in trunk that shuts off fuel pump if car gets hit to protect from fires in an accident. There is a reset on switch in trunk.

You have bigger problems if your airbags deployed.

I had mine trip from putting it on a roll back tow truck.
