How about an update Blacksmoke after two months of enjoying that new power.

Can't speak for Blacksmoke, but I will say this; Any attempt at WOT, or anything close, in 1st gear is a waste of time. Any attempt at getting into boost in 1st is useless. The tires just spin. 2nd fishtails for quite a while, & 3rd, & 4th pull like crazy. I'm now planning on getting my rear rims widened & getting some 325 Michelins.

Save the cash on widening the rims and buy some drag radials. No matter how wide you go, it won't hook on a street tire.

And if you think it's fun now, do a blower upgrade!!

I've got 19 X 9.5" wheels on it, & there's not a whole lot of tire choices out there. M/T makes a 305/30 DR that I could try, but they're only rated at around 5k miles.
The wider rims & 325 tires would be for looks too.

steve, you are always running your car with drag radial or it is only at the track, if you DD with them everyday, at what psi you run the DR, im guessing any sign of rain mean you cant really drive her, isnt drag radial very nervous while driving on the highway at 60-80 mph? i remember driving my gt supercharged to the 1hour away drag track and man that was a very stressing trip, the back was slowly moving left and right and sliding for no reason.

I used to run them all the time, but now I have a street set up with plain ol street tires, and just swap wheels when going to the track. I have driven MT drag radials in the rain before, and while they did "ok", I certainly won't say it was fun or easy to do. As far as driving in nice weather, they perform just as well as a normal street tire. No difference in the way the car drove with them on the back. I would usually run 32psi for normal driving and drop them to 16psi at the track. Now if you were using a bias ply ET Street tire on your GT, I could see it moving around a little, but the radials usually have very good street manners.
