Need advice on a Shelby GT!

Not just a badging thing, but I agree that they offered little which couldn't be done to a standard GT by the average enthusiast. The nicest thing about the Shelby GT was that they are "real" pre-title Shelby Mustangs, and actually finished at Shelby Autos in Las Vegas. Shelby GTs and the KRs were the last "real" Shelby Mustangs, built while Mr. Shelby was still around. That may be meaningless to most people, but in the long run, Shelby GTs will likely be among the most sought after of all '05-'09 S197s (my theory). I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to have one.

Sorry for the slow reply guys...I went back to the classic car dealer it's at and took a closer look and a lot of bad things came up. The louvers, bumpers, and paint didn't match. Lots of marks all over the car. And then the funniest part happened. This was the salesman's words: "Yeah you literally could not drive this car harder then the current owner does. It's literally impossible he drives this thing so hard its crazy! So you know its not gonna break on you!". Then he decided to tell me: "Yeah we know him really well we call him crackhead chris because he's so crazy". At that point I was just speechless...needless to say that shelby gt is out..
So my parents (Im 19 so they gotta approve) now wont let me get any 4.6 supercharged because they think they all will be destroyed basically by the previous owner. So it looks like im either staying with my challenger or going for a 2011 5.0. I love the coyotes so it's a pretty easy decision for me now I just gotta find one with everything I want!
Once again, thank you for all of the input guys i appreciate it!

Good luck finding the right car; it'll be worth the search. Don't be scared of a 4.6 that's been supercharged, though. Not all are abused; my Bullitt isn't, and may eventually get a blower. The stock 4.6, while not making the power of the 5.0 coyote, is really a stout, reliable engine. Plenty of 'em around with stock internals making 450 to the road, and are still perfectly healthy.
