Default tune,CAI installled and soon supercharge pulley

so i finally installed my steeda cai and a tune from bama and let me tell you this i was very skeptic at first about the gain that they promise but after installing these two i was shock i mean DAMN! it was like driving a new car i can feel and hear the supercharge whining like crazy. i was so happy with it and i can't wait to install the supercharge pulley and hopefully a throttle body in a few months. the mod bug hits me good.

only a couple of question though, i tune my car at 93 octane. is that were it supposed to be? i can choose from 91 92 or 93. what do those number mean? when i go to the gas station i only see 91 premium gasoline but never 93. no engine light has come on but am i doing this tuning thing correctly?

91 octane is the highest pump gas octane that is available to you in CA. I live on the east coast and we have 93 at most stations.

Since, 91 is the highest available, you should be using the 91 octane tune. Putting 91 in the tank with a 93 tune won't throw a CEL, BUT it could cause knocking/detonation issues. This is not good. With the 91 octane tune installed, you could put in a higher octane gas with no issues if it was available to you, just don't use anything less than 91 octane if that is the tune you have installed.

First things first, Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to hear you're in good shape and really enjoying your Bama tune!

You definitely want to run the 91 Octane tune if that's the gas you're running. If there was 93 Octane available in your area then it would be completely safe to run the 93 Race tune. However, you never want to run a lower octane then the tune calls for.

Hope this helps! Feel free to give the Bama team a call and they'll answer any questions you may have. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Before tuning I was in a chat with one of the AM people and he told me to load the 93 tune. I have no idea on how to use a tuner that why I decided to get a step by step help from them.

Yeah, the rep must have assumed that 93 Octane was available in your area. 93 is extremely common in our area and every gas station has it. So he probably just didn't even think about it!

I agree that you should absolutely use the 93 Tune if you can get your hands on 93 Octane fuel. That will show the largest gains. However, since it sounds like 91 is the highest octane option so I would definitely load that tune and fill up with 91.

Hope this helps!

Welcome to the modding addiction. Save the time and money of all the little minor mods and just go ahead and do a blower upgrade. Make more power and be cheaper in the long run.
