Default how to DIY oil change 2008 gt500

i'm in need of some advice on how to change my oil because i am tired of going to ford not knowing what their doing to my car.

first this is how do you change you're oil properly? is there a step by step instructions on how? i have never change oil before and i really want to learn it.

i know that my car requires 5w50 oil but how much of it? what is the best oil filter to buy? and finally where should i purchase these?

Just do a search on the site or google man. And your owner's manual has all fluid quantities listed.

thanks for the link, that certainly gave me some prespective on how to tacle this job, looks easy enough. i'm getting ready to purchase some of the stuff i'm going to need now my only question is as far as the oil and oil filter goes, what brand do you guys suggest?

I use either Royal Purple or Ford Racing filters on my GT and my dad's GT500.

Use motorcraft 5w50 and a wix filter. Carquest and Napa premium filters are made by Wix if there is one of their stores near you. Do NOT use any other weight oil than 5w50.

ok update on this so im finally going to change the oil on the car this weekend. i bough a Royal Purple 20-820 Oil Filter. and now i'm debating on either the mobil 1, motorcraft or castrol 5w50. which one do you guys think would be best?

I've been using Mobil 1 5W-50 since our local Napa carries it and run sales on it periodically.

Check out Schaeffers Oil ...5/50 supreme racing oil...It is the oil I run..
