Right, 10,000-12,000 miles over one year is about the national average, I believe.

Interesting thing... when you get into specialty cars, normal & average miles become high miles.

Overall condition and maintenance is a better way to go then miles alone.

and if you do pls post some pics.

Yes when I say "higher mileage" I am definately using the term lightly. I am dfinately looking into th car, and if I can get it to drop 500 for the tag I will be all over it if everything chcks out.

Yes I dfinately agree. 42k Is definately not high, just a little higher than I was originally looking for. But if everything is in good shap, it would be hard to beat that pric in my opinion. Thanks for all th help guys.

Oh, and rather than making a thread, can anyone tell me what th differences are on th S281 than the GT? I searched it but I just came up with specs for the Extremes. Thanks again guys.

Keep us posted, from what alot of people say sometimes if there is some mileage on the car that it was maintained and driveable. Somtimes when they have extra low mileage they may need some extra care to be roadworthy again, rubber, batteries, hoses, wires, dried up grease points etc.

The S281 came with underdrive pulleys, the Saleen PowerFlash calibration and a cat-back exhaust system. If memory serves correctly, it was during 2002 that the Borla kit was replaced with a MagnaFlow. Also some of the early 2002s have the V6 Pony fender emblems, the rest have the S281 badges.

Aside from the above, the S281 has the Saleen body kit, front & rear fascias, side skirts, quarter scoops, coupes receive a unique quarter window/roof trim panel. Lastly, the rear wing.

2002 is probably the first year the body color interior door inserts were standard, Momo shift ****, carpeted door inserts, Saleen logo Floor mats might have been standard as well (by 2002).

Under the car, "Racecraft" suspension, 18-inch wheels, and Pirelli tires.

I think this covers the basics.

Eric, the book has been found to have some inconsistencies,

such as in your case it may, but by calling Saleen may be the only option left to verify.

Here goes-
By your Vin you have a P46 chassis making it a convertible. (S281 Cobra-Verts 5 made). But the car # does not match then.
97-0240 Book says it is a P47 Chassis S281 Cobra Coupe -13 made.

Book does not mention SC as an option.
Last three vin-630
Chassis P47-coupe
Ship date-08/26/97
State-NV
Chrome Wheels
3.55 rear
Composite hood

You will probably have to call Saleen to verify any further info.
